Marrakech July 28, 2008 -- Making an important contribution to building capacity in promoting the development and structuring of the cinematographic and audiovisual industries, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid continues to promote creativity, innovation and talent with His sponsorship of the MEDA Films Development (MFD) seminar series, which are being held from July 28th to August 4th in Marrakech.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid’s objective is to strengthen the structure and infrastructure of audiovisual industries in Mediterranean countries and promote the development of the Moroccan films.

This session will focus specifically on administrative, legal, financial and tax impact in feature-film production. All participants will again meet new international experts as Egyptian Yousri Nasrallah, Pauline Dairou and Krishna Levy (France).

The MEDA Films Development Programs were launched in 2006 during the Marrakech International Film Festival brought every year by Crown Prince Moulay Rachid.

Programs are designed to provide a platform for exchanging experiences and know-how, encourage wide dissemination of audiovisual works in North and South and also support the development of audiovisual and cinema. Training programs are conducted in three sessions per year, lasting one week each.

Financed by the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation and European Union within the framework of the Euromed Audiovisual programme, MEDA Films Development is an initiative of Ali n’ Productions (Morocco) in partnership with the Moroccan Cinema Centre, Nomadis Images (Tunisia), EAVE (Luxembourg) and the Centre National de la Cinématographie (France).
